I recently watched a video that contained a humorous 100-year-old lady by the name of Dorothy Custer. On top of being funny, she also shares her secret on how she made it to 100 years of age. When I heard one of her reasons, I simply had to share this with everyone. I couldn’t get the actual video to come up on here, so please click on the link below and listen to her secret. As soon as she says it, I’m sure you will know why I wanted to share this.
At the time of this video, Dorothy Custer was 100 years old. Now, at 102, she is still living, and her most recent accomplishment consists of base jumping off a bridge to celebrate turning 102. Needless to say, Dorothy isn’t letting age slow her down one bit.
When asked what her secret to longevity is, the first 2 words that came to Dorothy’s mind?
102 years is an incredible accomplishment to live on this earth, and to be in the condition Dorothy is in at this age is absolutely remarkable. Is she blessed? Yes. Can everyone live this long with just a simple mindset? No.
But something everyone can do, regardless of age, is think positive, laugh daily, and be open to the everyday challenges that life has to offer.
Remember, life is the game we all have the opportunity to participate in. Some get to play the game longer than others, but all of us at least have the opportunity to play. Negative is the opponent we face on a daily basis, but we can win on a consistent basis if we just work to find the positives in life. So make the most out of your time. Don’t waste it dwelling on the negative. Instead, dedicate your life to the positives.
Stay positive, stay young, and stay playing the game we all love. You are never too old to carry a positive mindset, and Dorothy Custer is the perfect example of this. The examples of the benefits of finding the positives in life are all over. I’m trying to become one of those examples, and you can too. We can all do it together.
Think about the impact you can make on others if you become a positive example…..
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have a great rest of the week!
Think Positive. Be an Example.
Think Positive. Live Positive.
