This Guy Ran a Marathon A Day….for 5 Straight Months! Check it and Get Inspired

Take the time out of your day to watch this video.

I stumbled upon this video, unaware of who Terry Fox was, and what he did. You see, Terry Fox lost his right leg to cancer in 1977, but within his loss, he saw an opportunity to help, to inspire, and to make a positive difference.

After seeing this, I simply saw an opportunity to share his story with you in hopes that it will hit home like it did for me.

In 1980, Terry embarked on the Marathon of Hope, in which he would run 26 miles per day all the way across Canada in hopes to raise awareness for cancer research….and he would do all of this on a prosthetic leg. Many saw it to be impossible, but Terry believed he could do it, and it was all to call attention to a greater cause.

Day after day, Terry would somehow find the courage and strength to complete this seemingly impossible task. After an astonishing 143 days (Nearly 5 months straight!) of running a marathon a day, Terry would be faced with a new battle. This one much more difficult than simply running.

His cancer spread to his lungs, forcing him to quit his journey, but not before he became a national hero, inspiring an entire country to raise millions of dollars for cancer research. Terry would unfortunately lose his battle at the young age of 22.

It’s stories like that of Terry Fox’s that demonstrate what maintaining a “Mind.Set.Go. Mentality”  can do not only for our self, but for those around us.

Before Terry passed away, he told his friend,

“I want to try the impossible to show that it can be done.”

What is it that you want to do? How can you positively affect the person next to you?

Whatever it is, it’s completely possible with the right mindset. Think Positive and think of the endless possibilities that we are capable of. Think of people like Terry that do things for a greater purpose.

Today’s message:

Maintain a positive mindset and set your mind to inspire others to do the same. Find that “Mind.Set.Go. Mentality,” and find that new you for 2014.

Thank you for taking the time to check this out.

Think Positive. Impossible is Possible.

Think Positive. Live Positive.
